Abstract :
On purely technical terms the feasibility of the sodium-sulphur battery is no longer in doubt; the remaining questions centre on its operating life, cost and energy density. Unless then driving patterns and attitudes of the private motorist change drastically, it will never become an energy source for the private car, but present progress suggests that, in the passenger-transport and goods-delivery field, it could well become a very familiar energy source in the next decade
