Abstract :
The topics covered in a panel discussion held at the 1990 IEEE/PES Winter Meeting are summarized. The panel discussion addresses the need for marketing information systems in today´s electric utility industry, the essential components of such systems, and the limitations of these systems in improving customer service. These topics are addressed as they relate to demand-side management programs. This report is based on the results of an industry survey and on the experiences of selected utilities represented on the panel
