Abstract :
The basic concepts involved in using a contingency enumeration technique and a customer cost function to calculate overall system and individual load point interrupted energy assessment rates (IEAR) are presented. These rates can be used to relate customer monetary losses to the worth of electric service reliability in a composite generation and transmission system. The work also illustrates how a reasonably good approximate value of the IEAR can be obtained from the average load-point indices obtained from a comprehensive composite system adequacy assessment program
