Abstract :
An analysis is presented of how the geometrical complexity and electrical size of modeling electromagnetic problems might be expected to increase as computation speed and storage continue to grow. It is assumed that as moderately to massively parallel computers become available, computation bandwidths of 10/sup 16//hour by 1995 and 10/sup 18//hour by the year 2000 can be anticipated. Two key questions are examined, namely how many arithmetic operations are needed to obtain the information sought and how fast these computations can be done on the computers available.<>
