Abstract :
In, this paper, a detailed analysis of the optimum performance of various Doherty amplifier configurations in terms of output power, efficiency, and output power backoff ensuring a near-peak efficiency was presented. Closed-form design equations for the determination of the load RL and impedance Zc were derived for each configuration. An experimental realization at 1.9 GHz of a Doherty amplifier was presented. An efficiency of 43% was measured at 4 dB backoff from P1dB of 27 dBm.
