    Despite improving performance of British AGRs a single strong line has not emerged worldwide in gas-cooled reactors. AGRs and prototype high-temperature gas-cooled reactors drive steam electrical plant, but the potential of the latter may only be realised in future direct-cycle gas-turbine generation and process-heat applications
