  • Abstract
    The assumption that Internet traffic is of a self-similar nature in the core of large-scale networks is questioned. Actual traces originating from the NASA Ames Internet Exchange are analysed statistically to reveal that during busy times the traffic acquires strong quasi-Markovian properties
