Abstract :
Microwave techniques can be applied to diagnose malignancies such as cancerous tumours, cardiac condition, pulmonary oedema and thickening of arteries. Therapeutic applications involve heating of cancer tissues to lethal temperatures (hyperthermia) and heating of subcutaneous afflictions to enhance healing and to provide pain relief (diathermy) using microwave radiation
