Abstract :
An approach to facilitate information recovery from optical packet streams with a view to subsequent conversion into the electronic domain is presented. The technique is amenable to easy implementation and more importantly, helps to limit the widespread use of 3R regeneration at nodes within an extensive optical network, thereby easing node complexity and cost.
