Abstract :
This paper builds a comprehensive evaluation index system of urbanization and resource & environment. By using the principal component analysis, this paper extract two principal components from the urbanization and resource & environment respectively, and calculate the comprehensively score of each system. It found that in Hunan, the comprehensively score is increased in urbanization system while it is decreased in resource & environment system during 1996-2012. On the basis of the study mentioned above, the coordination of these two subsystems in Hunan is calculated by membership model. The results show that with the exception of the period from 2001 to 2006 having reached coordinated or very coordinated development between urbanization and resource & environment in Hunan, all other years present a very uncoordinated or uncoordinated situation. Furthermore, the coordination of urbanization and resource & environment in Hunan Province during 1996-2012 is M-type.
