Abstract :
A method for three-dimensional steady-state eddy-current analysis of moving conductor using nodal elements and moving-coordinate system is changed to the edge finite-element method (FEM). This method uses the interpolation of the unknown values on edges at any positions. The new method is verified using the iron cylinder rotating in the uniform magnetic field. Moreover, it is shown that more accurate results by using the new method can be obtained within shorter central processing unit time compared with the nodal FEM
