Losses in D.C. machines from no-load tests

The paper deals with the determination of the rotational losses of dynamos and motors that occur on load, by menas of a no-load test which allows for the increase of iron losses due tot the load. The theory of the test is given and the method of carrying it out is described. Typical results on machines whose losses were determined in other ways are included to show the probable accuracy of the method.
