Abstract :
In the First Report and Order, the FCC allocated 40 MHz of spectrum at 2,360-2,400 MHz for MBAN use on a secondary basis. The spectrum will accommodate MBAN use through an expansion of the existing Medical Device Radiocommunication Service in Part 95 of FCC rules. This structure, which will permit MBAN devices to operate on a license-by-rule basis in which users will not have to apply for and receive individual station licenses, is expected to lead to a rapid and widespread development of new MBAN applications.
