Abstract
Based on Von der Embse´s theory (1968), a model is developed for the induction generator that takes into account saturation effects. This model is used to study the transient behaviour of an induction generator in a small hydroelectric power plant. The theoretical behaviour predicted by the model is found to be in satisfactory agreement when compared with test results obtained on a simulator
