Abstract :
Engine generator sets used as alternate sources of power (i.e., emergency or standby power) must be properly grounded. Also, the associated transfer switches must be properly selected. The author describes how this is necessary to protect personnel and equipment, and to provide reliable ground-fault sensing and continuous power to electrical loads
