Abstract
Testing with pulsed signals in reverberation chambers has the advantage of a lower input-power necessary to reach the desired test field-strength. On the other hand larger chambers with a high quality factor Q have a large time-constant. That means that the build-up of the electrical field inside a chamber takes a long time (up to several μs). This can become a problem when testing with 3 μs-pulses is concerned. The rise- and fall-time of the electrical field inside a reverberation chamber can be manipulated using specifically designed input signals. To design such signals it is important to accurately model the chamber response to any given input signal. Assuming a reverberation chamber to be a linear time-invariant system it is possible to calculate the chamber response using the systems impulse-response. In this paper a corresponding equivalent baseband model is presented. With this the chamber response can be accurately predicted.
