Abstract :
The analysis and synthesis filters of linear prediction theory are extended to include linear interpolation. A noncausal lattice filter for linear interpolation is obtained from the linear interpolation recursion. The results provide insight into the interrelation of prediction and interpolation and of one- and two-sided representations of one-dimensional Markov sequences
