Abstract :
In this work, recursive interpolating wavelet packets with shape parameter vectors are constructed and the parameter-adaptive decomposition algorithms are presented, which are based on the subband coding gain. Unlike the previous structure-adaptive one in which every node employs the same pair of filters, the shape parameter vectors of every node are signal-adaptively selected in our approaches, thus an adaptive decomposition with the optimal parameter vectors is obtained. Moreover, the approach resolves the design of two-band interpolating principal component filter banks. The experiment results show that the presented approaches can markedly improve the coding gain
