Abstract
Two optical configurations are demonstrated which ease some of the packaging demands placed on ultrafast demultiplexers: the first is a modified version of a device called the ultrafast nonlinear interferometer (UNI); the second is that of a new picosecond-resolution all-optical demultiplexer developed by the authors, known as the polarisation-rotating reflecting diode demultiplexer (R2D2)
