Abstract :
A team at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) has developed the first amplifier that is optimised specifically for solid-state nanopore sensor applications. Their miniaturised patch-clamp amplifier, which is cheaper and smaller than the commercial bench top multi-purpose alternative, achieves a comparable performance and overcomes the dead time problem inherent in existing amplifiers.
