Abstract :
The successful demonstration of a Mach-Zehnder type electrooptic modulator based on nonlinear optical organic-silica hybrid films is reported for the first time. A sol-gel process for preparing organic-silica hybrid materials, the thermal stability of the poled films, and the fabrication and operational characteristics of the Mach-Zehnder modulator are described
