Abstract :
A novel and simple solution to the frequency accommodation and synchronisation problems found in the development of a video codec, is presented. It is based on the use of elastic buffers and PLLs, appropriate to the video signal characteristics. The solution was tested in a prototype with excellent results and reduced hardware complexity.
