Abstract :
We explore the idea of using available roadside WLAN access points (APs) for broadband vehicular communication. In this scenario, a moving vehicle is expected to encounter APs belonging to different ISPs. Thus, the role of a central architecture to support interoperability between different ISPs is crucial. Here, we provide a mathematical model to characterize the benefits associated with implementing WISPr in roadside-to-vehicle communication systems.
