Abstract :
High permittivity whispering gallery mode (WGM) dielectric resonators have been used in preference to fundamental mode dielectric resonators because of their high quality factor; good suppression of spurious modes and reasonable mechanical dimensions at millimetre wavelength frequencies. In the paper a WGM dielectric resonator directional filter employed in a shunt feedback configuration in a GaAs FET oscillator at C-band is presented. Good oscillator output power and low phase noise close to the carrier have been achieved
