            Abstract : 
This paper presents the application of long-range predictive control to the problem of induction motor stator current regulation. The particular controller used is the generalized predictive controller in a synchronous reference frame. The theory and implementation of this controller are discussed and simulation results are presented, which compare favorably with those for proportional integral compensated controllers
