Study on mobile mashup webapp development tools for different devices and user groups

Tools for mobile mashup development need to be differentiated considering both of experts and common users. Appropriate tools are also necessary for each environment of PCs and mobile devices. This study deals with issues on easier development environment for mobile mashups. The design of a new development system was proposed and has been implemented successfully. The system provides development tools on PCs, mobile pads and smartphones for both of experts and common users. The system and its tools were designed differentiating the roles of experts and common users for block creation, so common users can easily make webapps using various blocks. UI-based mashup development methods were adopted together with workflow-based methods, so it is more intuitive for common users to understand mashup procedures. As a result, users can make a number of useful mobile webapps using the system.
