Abstract :
A new method based on the YCbCr channel information is proposed for image demosaicing. The method includes three steps. The first step follows the convenient approach to calculate the candidates of estimators for the missing pixels. The second step employs a novel soft-decision method to determine the proper estimators. The final step finalizes the demosaicing result with a novel filter to reduce the color artifacts. The novelty of our methods include the use of the YCbCr information, instead of the RGB information, in the second step and the use of new filter, instead of the median filter, in the third step. Experimental results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our approach.
