Abstract
The history of polyurethane coatings in the fine magnet wire industry is documented, focusing on applications. The chemistry of polyurethane is examined, and developments in polyurethane wire technology are reviewed. Suggestions for improving solderability, thermal life, and solubility of the polymer are offered.<>
