Abstract :
A new algorithm for the burst demodulation of QAM with unknown carrier phase is presented. This algorithm utilises sequence detection and the Viterbi algorithm and does not require estimation of the carrier frequency and phase. Its applications can be widely found in broadband wireless access and other systems that use burst transmission
