The department editors for the new Spatial Interfaces department map out their plans for what they´d like the column to cover in future issues and describe what their first installment will highlight. The emerging field of spatial interfaces offers fertile ground for practitioners in the field and academia alike. The department provides a unique forum for the broad range of topics around interactive interfaces and displays beyond the desktop.
