Abstract
This paper describes a theory and method for designing the linear equidistant antenna array (LEAA). The theory is based on the approximation of Kronecker delta function. An appropriate basis function, that leads to obtaining narrow beam low side lobe pattern, has been developed. The method has been carried out using Remez´ algorithm, and an optimal polynomial, that approximates Kronecker delta with high precision, has been obtained. Furthermore, an analysis of antenna array´s parameters as well as comparison with those of Dolph-Chebyshev´s and Riblet´s methods have also been carried out. With the proposed method, antenna arrays with better selectivity than those of Dolph-Chebyshev´s and Riblet´s can be obtained.
