Abstract :
The IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB) provides a forum for the division directors and presidents of the IEEE Societies to discuss issues of mutual interest. One topic that arises periodically is how the IEEE can better serve industrial members. The discussion usually starts with a statement that many IEEE products and activities are not important to the IEEE Members who work in industry. The statement is followed by a discussion of reasons for this and its potential solutions. The dialogue usually ends with no conclusions and no action items.
