Abstract :
I did my undergraduate education on the cooperative plan, alternating terms in school with periods of work for an engineering consulting firm in my home town. The decision to take this approach was initially based on financial considerations, but later it turned out that the work experience equipped me for my professional career in ways I could never have anticipated.
