Abstract
A nuclear-magnetic-resonance (NMR) magnetic field meter suitable for measuring high fields at liquid-helium temperatures is described. A continuous measurement range from 1 to 11 T with a probe rod of 1.7 m in length is obtained without changing the sample coil in the cryostat by means of a novel approach called the suppression method. The ratio of NMR signal to noise is increased by biasing the marginal oscillator into the hard state.
