Abstract
This paper describes a new fundamental standard for the measurement of microwave power. An electron beam is employed to measure the stored energy within a microwave resonant cavity having predetermined field distribution and Q factor. For power in the range 1–500 mW at 9 GHz, three comparisons with U.K. National bolometric standards gave consistency within 0.7 percent.
