Abstract :
The use of a two-resistor power splitter with symmetrical outputs for comparing a reference with an unknown power meter has been discussed [1], [2] showing the very low error due to mismatch of the two power standards. This results from the unique symmetrical properties of the splitter. The purpose of this paper is to present a technique that may be used to further reduce the reflection error and still enable wide-frequency-band automatic calibrations. A technique is also described which may be used to determine the reflection coefficient of the power standards.
