Abstract :
The effects of wavelength instabilities on the performance of a multiwavelength heterodyne interferometer are treated theoretically in relation to a multisource system. The analysis predicts that a geometrically progressive synthetic wave set is the ideal configuration, and that an optimum number of wavelengths exists that minimises the stability requirements of the sources
