Abstract :
A single neuronal channel has been shown experimentally, as well as analytically, to be a distorting low-fidelity nonlinear communication pathway. Overall external system performance is a clear manifestation of a system with distortion-free communication lines between its internal components. How this might be achieved in the nervous system by signal divergence and convergence in the multichannel neuromuscular control system in the presence of interchannel parameter dispersion is discussed.
