            Abstract : 
PbSe nanocrystals are grown in a novel phosphate glass that provides a PbSe concentration of up to 0.7 wt.%. The optical absorption edge of the medium can he positioned in the wavelength range 0.6-2.5 μm. Up to five separate quantum transitions are observed with optical absorption spectroscopy. This phosphate glass is a potential material for applications in optical communication and optoelectronic devices
