Abstract :
Completely filter-free four-wave mixing wavelength conversion is demonstrated, for the first time, in a broad-area semiconductor optical amplifier. The use of a non-collinear four-wave mixing configuration provided 27 dB suppression of the straight-through converter beam relative to the output converted signal without using narrow-band optical filters. A 19.2 dB pump beam isolation was also obtained
