Abstract
Lane detection is an important aspect of intelligent transportation systems. In this study, we propose a fast real-time lane-detection algorithm based on an automated multi-segment lane-switch scheme which is integrated with the traditional Random Sample Consensus algorithm to improve the performance of the algorithm. To conduct our experiments, we used videos captured from urban roads and highways to show that our algorithm has higher efficiency than and comparable precision to other state-of-the-art algorithms.
