Abstract :
The performance is considered of unbuffered packet-switching nonrectangular multistage interconnection networks. Performance analysis is based on a simplified model for resolution of packet contention. An approximate closed-form analytical expression for the probability of packet acceptance is derived. Blocking characteristics of nonrectangular networks are analyzed and it is shown that for large nonrectangular networks, the probability of packet acceptance does not degrade with growth of network size
