  • Abstract
With the increase of aging population, medical healthcare based on mobile phone has become a hot research topic. In this paper, a mobile health surveillance platform for monitoring physiological parameters of the elderly was implemented and a corresponding physiological tendency model for fall alert was proposed, which can help prevent falls for the elderly by setting up suitable thresholds. A program for signals processing was developed to realize the display, storage, and optimization of pulse waveform. Through data analysis, an early warning can be generated to help prevent falls caused by disease-related factors. The effectiveness of physiological monitoring and physiological tendency model for health surveillance of the elderly has been validated by experiment results.
