Abstract :
An alternative post geometry suitable for the realization of waveguide filters is investigated. The new post consists of half a cylinder. Due to its asymmetry it is possible to vary the electrical characteristics of such an element by means of a simple rotation. This permits us to compensate for fabrication tolerances of a filter without introducing additional screws
