  • Abstract
The bilinear transformation (BLT) is useful to instrumentation and design engineers in many settings. Two examples are: in the modeling of continuous-time (CT) systems via digital computer and in the design of digital infinite-impulse-response filters that are to have response characteristics similar to those of a selected CT filter. An introduction to the BLT is presented along with a discussion of how to obtain the BLT numerically
