Transferring ITS Algorithms to Functions [Editor's Column]

I am writing this column a fortnight after having returned from the Intelligent Vehicles Symposium in Baden-Baden and I am still under the impression of meeting with many friends and colleagues from our society. In the many inspiring discussions that I had at that occasion I found the intelligent vehicles sector migrating more and more from ambitious research to a mature field of engineering with a sound scientific background.
