Courier communication satellite

The Courier-communication-satellite experiment was undertaken to demonstrate the feasibility and operational capabilities of a delayed-repeater satellite transmission system and to provide a basis for estimating the usefulness and capacity of long-range multi-station store and forward message-handling capability utilizing a satellite vehicle. This article discusses the exchange of messages between ground stations through the Courier satellite, gives a typical operating sequence and describes the satellite.
