Abstract
The author describes the issues that he believes should be at the forefront of IEE members´ minds as the IEE enters a new millennium. The emphasis is on the importance of knowledge and its growth. He discusses the INSPEC database, the IEE´s Continuing Professional Development programme which is based on the identification and dissemination of information and knowledge in both established and emerging technologies. The author stresses the importance of communicating the knowledge gained to others
