Abstract :
The author proposes and analyses a novel type of baseband phase-reversal electrode for optical modulators. The electrode makes possible a wider baseband response and has been optimised for linear phase response. Numerical calculations and measurement results are reported for this novel structure. Figure of merit compared to an ordinary electrode is given.
