Abstract :
A simple computer-aided approach is used to design the beampattern of an array of arbitrary geometrical shape with minimum white noise output power. The basic idea of the approach is to minimise the mean-square value of the array response in certain directional regions while imposing a directional gain constraint at one frequency or over a frequency band of interest.
